About Us

Kempshott Under Fives is based in the beautiful grounds of St Mark’s Church in Homesteads Road. We opened in November 2015 and cater for 20 children per session, aged two to five years. Kempshott Under Fives is run by Hatch Warren Under Fives Preschool Ltd. It was created to meet the need for a preschool in Kempshott and to offer additional spaces for Hatch Warren's large waiting list.

We are open from 8.30am each day, with either an 8.30am or 9am start time available for morning sessions and a 12.30pm start time for afternoon sessions; We close at 3pm each day and again we have plenty of pick up times to suit; midday, 1pm or 3pm. Our preschool benefits from a lovely room with doors out onto a wonderful garden area. The children can access the garden year-round for outdoor play.  

At Kempshott we believe that by working in partnership with our parents we will be able to achieve the best for our individual children.

We learn through play because children begin to understand the wonders of the world and build their skills for life through this. We observe the children as they play, record our observations and plan activities to extend their learning and development.

At Kempshott Under Fives we enjoy a calm and seasonal approach to learning so we are currently working towards a Hygge in the Early Years accreditation. 

Spending quality time with the children enables us to build positive relationships with them and when combined with the partnerships we have with our families we achieve the best outcomes for all of our children. 

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was carried out on 19th September 2023. Our overall grading remains GOOD.

The inspector noted some lovely comments about our setting, including: "Children form close bonds with the compassionate and dedicated staff. They confidently leave their parents, happily walk into the nursery and eagerly engage in the activities." 

There was some lovely feedback from parents in the report too: "Parents highly value the manager and her team. They report on the impressive ways that staff communicate with them about their children's progress, such as through an online application, newsletters and verbally. Parents are impressed with how happy their children are to attend and how excited they are to tell their parents about their day on collection."
