We are pleased to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection. 

The inspection confirmed that safeguarding standards are met and recognised many strengths across the setting, including:

• Children are happy, engaged and enjoy coming to preschool.
• Children make steady progress and are well prepared for school.
• Strong communication and language development.
• Warm, positive relationships between staff and children.
• A safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
• A dedicated staff team committed to supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
   

The report identified an area requiring improvement within Leadership and Governance following the significant management changes experienced by the preschool earlier this year. We recognise this feedback and are pleased that many of the actions identified by Ofsted were already in place at the time of inspection or have since been further strengthened. This includes enhanced leadership oversight, more robust supervision arrangements and additional support for the staff team.

Since the inspection, we have continued to make positive progress and remain fully committed to delivering the highest quality care and education for all children.

Leadership Update

We have appointed Vonny Hayward as Preschool Manager. She formally took up the role in September 2026. Vonny brings significant early years experience from our partner setting, Hatch Warren Under Fives Preschool, where she spent over three years and most recently served as Deputy Manager. Her leadership, knowledge and commitment to high-quality early years provision will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen and develop the preschool.

Vonny spent part of the last academic year covering some sessions at Kempshott following our previous manager's departure, and she provided valuable stability and support for both the children and staff team during this transitional period.

Strengthening SEND Support

We are also delighted that Verity Steele has taken on the role of dedicated SEND Lead.

Verity has been part of the Kempshott and Hatch Warren family since 2019 and brings a wealth of experience in supporting children with additional needs. In her role, she works closely with families, staff and external professionals, supports EHCP applications and reviews, and helps ensure children are well prepared for their transition into primary school. Her appointment further strengthens our commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality support for every child.
